I finally got around to completing another update and have added six new stories! Many of you will be happy to hear that Arianrhodd has completed Chapter Four of "Awakened" and is now hard at work on Chapter Five. There are also two new authors at the archive. lsellersfic has contributed her Nasir-centric story, "The Saracen's Daughter," while greek_amazon has written "Cold," which also centers around Nasir. AVictorianGirl returns with "Choices," a very angsty Nasir/Huntingdon story, and Tonica brings us "The Golden Boys," which focuses on Gisburne and Huntingdon, and "Escape to Sherwood," which is a rather unique experiment when it comes to Robin of Sherwood. Among other things, this story has a romance between Gisburne and an original female character and some slash elements as well.
For those of you who keep track of these things, I've added a new survey as well. You can find the results for the previous survey here.

Holy stories, Batman! I think we may have our biggest collection yet! This update, we have three gen stories and eight slash fics! I'm happy to say that Karen has written a sequel to "Meg of Wickham" called "Meg of Sherwood," and Funky has submitted a wonderful Much story called "Locked in the Stinking Dark". We even have a new writer to the archive! Carolyn Wolfe has submitted "Letting Go," a dramatic piece in play format. And, then, we get to the slash. Wendy McCrae was kind enough to let me include "A Moment of Contentment" and "Secrets Found" at the archive, while Tonica gave me permission to link to all six of the stories in the RoS series she has posted on her website.

I bet you weren't expecting to see another update this soon! Well, this isn't just any old update: it's a tenth anniversary update! :-) And because it's a special occasion, I come bearing gifts. As part of the archive, you'll now be able to find a slash section, a songvid section, and a new LJ community for RoS fic writers and fans of RoS fic. On a less exciting note, there's also a new survey, not to mention the results from the old one.
I hope you enjoy this tenth anniversary edition of the RoS Fanfic Archive update!

Season’s greetings! Once again, I’ve managed to squeeze in an update just before Christmas. And a holiday update wouldn’t be complete without “The Fic from Christmas Past,” a collection of past stories that take place over the festive season. Of course, there are also NEW stories. This update, there’s the latest chapter of Arianrhodd’s “Awakened,” and Funky has written a prequel to “His Own Path” called “Son of Summer”. Not only that, but L has outdone herself and submitted “Seventy Times Seven,” a story over 43,000 words in length that features Nasir, Gisburne and Will.
In January, there will be some new additions to the archive as this site will be celebrating a very special occasion. :-)
October 19, 2008
I think this may be the BIGGEST update ever! Not only do we have the second chapter of Arianrhodd’s “Awakened” and the concluding installment of Idun’s “Hidden Treasure,” but five NEW stories! With “Blood Runs Deep,” Wendy McRae has written an exciting story full of adventure and romance. Funky explores some new territory with “When the Rain Fell,” theorizing on what it means to be Herne the Hunter and how this legacy is passed. Lastly, Karen, a brand new writer to the archive, has written three stories: “Meg of Wickham,” “Victory and Loss: A Tail-piece to The Time of the Wolf,” and “The Three Blessings”. These three stories each have a very mystical feel.
As promised, there’s also a new survey. And, as this survey could very well determine future developments at the archive, it’s in your best interests to participate and have your say.

It looks like it's that time again: update time! :-) For this update, we have a fabulous selection of NEW stories! L has been kind enough to submit two great Nasir stories, "In the Beginning A Flame" and "In The End," while Funky brings us "His Own Path," which has a very interesting premise! This update also sees the return of two writers who have posted stories to the archive in the past. Wendy McRae's "A New Life" is a Nasir story set during and after "Robin Hood and the Sorcerer," which takes events in a slightly different direction from canon, and the first chapter of Arianrhodd's "Awakened" gives us a delicious taste of what, I'm sure, will prove to be a very exciting story!
For those of you who haven't seen the announcement already, the email forms are now back up and running. I only realized that there was a problem with them a couple of weeks ago, so I apologize to anyone who may have used them while they weren't working properly. If you've tried using the submission form and haven't heard from me then please email me directly or try using the form again. The same goes for the email update list form, the feedback form and the survey. Speaking of the survey, I hope to post a new one next update. In the mean time, I hope at least some of you will participate in the current poll.

I know it's been a while, but the archive has finally been updated! And, not only that, but it's the special post-ep addition! There's AnnMarie's "Aftermath," a story set after "The Greatest Enemy," and Funky's "Beginnings," an Edward of Wickham fic that is also set after "The Greatest Enemy". L's "Going Home" is a Nasir fic set after "The Children of Israel," and Idun, a new writer to the archive, has submitted the first part of "The Hidden Treasure," a story that takes place after "The Time of the Wolf".
December 21, 2007
Happy Holidays! For once, this update isn't outrageously late. I'm also delighted to say that this is one of the best updates I've ever done. This time around, there are six fantastic NEW stories by three talented writers. AnnMarie has contributed two Anya of Huntingdon stories ("Promises" and "Requiem") with Gisburne playing a major role in both. L has kindly submitted not one, not two, but three stories for this update! With "Assassin's Knife," "Strange and Unusual" and "What Dreams May Come," L explores Nasir's character in some fascinating and exciting ways! Lastly, I'm happy to announce that we have another new writer to the Archive. Funky has written a beautiful Edward of Wickham story called "Blessings". I'm hoping she'll write more RoS fic in the future.
Besides the latest fic, we have the annual tradition of The Fic of Christmas Past, a group of older stories that all take place over the festive season. You may also remember that I promised a new survey, so be sure to check it out. You might also want to read the results from the last survey as they were rather interesting.
Before I sign off, I would really like to thank AnnMarie, L and Funky for taking time out of their busy schedule to work with me on this update. I literally couldn't have done it without them!
October 5, 2007
It was a long time in coming, but we've got six wonderful NEW stories this update! AnnMarie has contributed two new Anya of Huntingdon stories – "The King's Jewels" and "Babies". There are also two great Gisburne stories – Alaisina's "Elena and Elaine" and L's "Benedictio novi militis". Lastly (but not leastly), we have a new writer at the Archive. With "Trouble" and "More Trouble," Renske has provided us with an alternative view of how Robert of Huntingdon first met the outlaws and helped them in their cause before becoming the Hooded Man.
Next update, I hope to bring you a new survey – and more NEW fic, of course!

Yes, it's painfully obvious that this update is coming much later than it should. I'm not even going to attempt to make excuses. I'm sure you've heard them all before. All I can say in my defence is…better late than never? *g*
Once again, this should be a welcome update for Nasir fans, as two out of three stories feature our favourite Saracen in a prominent role. Nasir's adventures with Katherine continue in Lynn Braden's "Encounter with Nasir," the third story in her series, while new writer L has Nasir lending a sympathetic ear to Robert in "Same Difference". The third story is a nice little treat for Gisburne fans. Azina Zelle, another new writer to the archive, has written a humourous parody called "Herne's Other Son".
I was hoping to provide more stories this update, but AnnMarie is in the process of moving and Alaisina has been insanely busy at work. With any luck, I'll be able to post fic from both of these writers next time.
Well, believe it or not, I've managed to keep one promise and post a new survey. Cast a vote and let your voice be heard. Oh, and don't forget to check out the results from the last survey.
Lastly, and on a much more minor note, I've gone and removed all the <h4> coding from the stories. I noticed recently that the text hasn't looked great on the latest version of Internet Explorer, so I went in and changed all the files, which provided hours of entertainment, let me tell you. *g* Anyway, I'm hoping that the text will be a little clearer now and easier on the eyes. Even without the later version of Internet Explorer, I think the text still looks pretty good.

Nasir fans will definitely like this update! Nasir plays a major role in four out of five stories! Two of the stories, "The Lighter Side" and "Two Hearts to One" are from AnnMarie's Anya of Huntingdon series. A new writer to the Archive, Lynn Braden, has written the other two Nasir stories, "Encounter in Sherwood" and "Encounter in Chesterton". Gisburne fans will be happy to note that Alaisina has contributed a second story, "Bess," which deals with our favourite knight's background.
Look for a new survey (and the results of the current survey) come the next update.
December 10, 2006
Just in time for the holidays! Another update!
We've got three new stories from AnnMarie's Anya of Huntingdon series. The first story, "Two Weddings and a Secret," will interest both Huntingdon and Gisburne fans, while "The Sheriff's New Man" and "Sostice" should appeal to Nasir fans. I'm also happy to introduce a new writer to the archive. M. Henderson has written a script set several years after "The Time of the Wolf". It centers around Much, but the other outlaws and Gisburne also play a big role. In addition to the new stuff, there's The Fic from Christmas Past, a collection of older stories set during the festive season.
I promised this last update and I'm finally delivering. I've posted a new survey and published the results from the last one. I think we had our best numbers ever for the last survey, so please participate this time around. It's easy and relatively painless.
September 3, 2006
Once again, I'm not even going to attempt to offer any excuses. As usual, the update is coming later than it should. I'm hoping that five NEW stories will help make up for it. I'm delighted to say that AnnMarie has provided two more stories from her Anya of Huntingdon series. I think Nasir fans will enjoy "Crusader's Son," while Gisburne fans won't want to miss out on "Redemption". Greenlore Druid has also returned with "The Wish" and "The Witness," two interesting and thought-provoking stories. Lastly, but certainly not leastly, there's "A Chance Meeting" by Mistress Mystery, a new writer to the Archive. Her story should appeal to both Gisburne and Huntingdon fans.
Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the current survey. I'll post the results in the next update -- and add a new survey, of course.
May 14, 2006
I know I sound like a broken record because I say this every update, but I really had intended to post new stories sooner, especially as the last update was a mini update. I could make a bunch of excuses and promise to do better next time, but it's getting old and you've got better things to read…like NEW fic! Well, this time around we've got four NEW stories and four NEW writers to the archive! :-)
Rory Cavicke and Father have written a terrific dramatic piece called "The Death of Edward de Rainault," while Greenlore Druid has submitted "The Hooded Man," the first of what I hope will be many great stories. AnnMarie is a name you'll soon become familiar with if you're a regular reader because she has already sent me several stories in a wonderful series featuring Anya Huntingdon's adventures in Sherwood. The first story premiering in this update is "Reunion". Then there's Rusty Armour, who isn't a new writer at the archive. Unfortunately, I know Rusty all too well. *g* Rusty's most recent RoS story, "The Reckoning," was actually written a while ago, but it's making its first appearance at the archive.
Besides NEW fic there's now a new survey. This time around, you can vote on what you think about the possible resurrection of RoS. Good idea? Bad idea? Let us know what you think.

Happy New Year! This is just a mini update, but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. For one thing, there's the long-awaited (but definitely worth the wait) epilogue for Trisse's "In Safe Keeping". Then there's "Eva's Autumn," an interesting and rather unique story by Alaisina, a new writer to the Archive.
There will be more fic in the future. I've already got my eyes on a couple of stories, one of which is still being written. However, if there are any budding writers out there, I'm always happy to hear from you!
September 19, 2005
This update is obviously long overdue. I could come up with a huge list of excuses, but that would make for a pretty boring read. One thing I can say is that the Archive is experiencing another drought. RoS fic is a bit hard to come by at the moment, so if there are any budding writers out there...
Fortunately, we’ve got some great stories this update. As a reward to faithful Trisse readers who’ve waited so long for the next instalment of “In Safe Keeping,” I’ve posted the next two parts of the story. The epilogue will be posted at a later date. There’s also Jae’s “The Guardian” and President Luthor’s “A Fool’s Errand,” which is a work in progress.
It took an age but there’s finally a new survey. Be sure to cast your vote and check out the results from the last poll. Lastly, there are new links in the Links Section for GrondFic and Stupid Plot Tricks (recommended by a friend) and a new link in the RoS Anachronism Guide for Medieval English Towns (also recommended by said friend).
April 30, 2005
As usual, this update is coming later than it should. I seem to say this every update, and every update it seems to be true! *Clears throat* In any case, NEW stories have been added to the archive and that’s what counts, right?
We’ve got a great selection of new fic this update! There are two stories written by returning authors, Xenon and Rebecca Carefoot. Xenon’s “The Ruined Castle” is an exciting adventure full of magic and sorcery, while Rebecca Carefoot’s “On the Razor’s Edge” is a moving piece about Marion, set during “Herne’s Son”. I’m sure that Gisburne fans will be excited to hear that Trisse has written a new story! The first part of “In Safe Keeping,” a sequel to Sorne’s The Keepsake, has now been posted. And, finally, I’m happy to introduce a new writer, Rhys. Rhys is a member of the Heart of Sherwood RPG, and his humourous and thoughtful fic, “A Day in the Life of a Sherwood Physio,” was first archived there.
Speaking of the Heart of Sherwood RPG, it has a brand new website! Be sure to visit the links section and check it out! I’ve also changed the link for Sebastyin & Lucinda’s Parlour, which now has a new name (The Parlour) and URL. Next update I’ll provide a new survey...and more stories, of course! :-)
January 3, 2005
I was right not to tempt fate by making any promises... *g* I obviously didn’t complete this update before Christmas. I didn’t even finish it before New Year’s, my second deadline after the Christmas deadline fell through. No, I had to wait until 2005 arrived...Happy New Year!
As you may have guessed already, there are new stories in the Archive. Four, to be exact. There’s Val Douglas’ sequel to “The Daughter of Israel,” “Little Girl Lost,” and the final installment of Trisse’s “Darkness and Insight II”! I’m also happy to announce that the new year has brought two new writers to the Archive, Fleur de Lys and Jackie Marshall! Fleur de Lys has penned a steamy Gisburne romance, “The End of Innocence,” while Jackie Marshall has provided us with a Loxley tale of adventure and mysticism with “Year King”.
Happy reading, everyone, and best wishes for 2005!
